Petroglyphs at Roche a Cri State Park, near Friendship, WIBoth petroglyphs and pictographs on a vertical stone face
A lovely warm day in October to explore the
trails
Left: The red thunderbird is visible
below the initials 'J S F'
Right: The
archaeologists call these 'turkey tracks'.
The black paint is recent graffiti, and the initials are
older graffiti.
Some say petroglyphs are where the
spirits carved their images into the stone, and that you can only see
them if the spirits choose to reveal themselves.
